Peery Products started its business in 1945 as manufacturers of standing choir risers. It was started by John C. Peery, a music teacher in Portland, Oregon. In the 1980s he expanded the business to include manufacturing handbell tables and the drum caddy. 

In 1985, John's niece, Faith, and her husband, Don, purchased the business. In 2005, Faith's daughter, Kat, and her husband Chris became owners. Now in its third generation of ownership, the business has been expanded to include a wider array of accessories for the music industry. Some items include student posture stairs, lights, tables, music stands and more. Kat has worked in the business for over 22 years and provides valuable consulting.

More recently, in June of 2009, Kat and Chris have formed a partnership with the Barbershop Society. In addition, Peery now offers risers built specifically for Barbershop choral groups.
